Friday, October 12, 2018: MASTERCLASS & AUDITION – Open Jar Institute, 1:15PM

Work with Broadway’s Angelique Ilo and audition for a chance to attend the Open Jar Institute in Summer 2019.

DANCE: Wear jazz shoes or sneakers and come dressed to dance.

SING: Be ready to sing a 32-bar cut of a song that shows you at your best. Bring sheet music clearly marked for an accompanist to play. No music tracks.

Bring a non-returnable headshot and resume.

What is Open Jar Institute?

New York City’s most Broadway-integrated actor training program, the Open Jar Institute  provides select students one-on-one training with some of Broadway’s biggest stars, directors, choreographers, agents and casting directors.

Friday, October 12, 2018: IRCHS Blood Drive, 9AM – 3PM 

*All donors will receive a free t-shirt and wellness checkup as well as pizza!
– Remember you can earn 10 volunteer hours for donating blood, (only once per school year, save your donor cards!)
– You must be 16 years old and have a release form signed by your parent. There is also a minimum weight requirement in order to be eligible. International students are not eligible due to One Blood requirements.
**Release forms are available from the front office or Mrs. Jessica Kelly’s room (Room 109). Remember, you MUST choose an appointment during a break or lunch.

Monday, October 15, 2018: Social Switch Day

Dress like you’ve never dressed before! Trade your band T’s for a pair of cowboy boots and your skirts/dresses for some graphic T’s. This day is the day to be different & have fun! Try something new & remember, please don’t be offensive! After all, here at charter we love and accept ALL. Clothes are just Clothes, so let’s just have some fun!

Tuesday, October 16, 2018: Tacky Tourist Day

Just like it sounds, dress in your favorite tacky tourist style! Bring on the Hawaiian T’s & shades!

Tuesday, October 16, 2018: Choir Chipotle Fundraiser

PLEASE mention IRCHS Choir in order for a percentage of your meal to benefit IRCHS Choir.

Wednesday, October 17, 2018: MEME Day

You asked, we obliged! Meme day is a day where students dress up as characters from viral videos and images for a day! Please, you must be appropriate, if any student is dressed inappropriately they will receive a dress code ticket & 5 demerits.

Thursday, October 18, 2018: Fandom Day

Come to school dressed in Disney, Harry Potter, super hero apparel, or as your favorite TV show character. No full costumes, please.

Friday, October 19, 2018: School Spirit/Twin Day! 

Juniors and Seniors are welcome to come to school in their Powder Puff shirts as well as school appropriate bottoms. Small face paint is OK, no body paint until the game, please. The rest of the school can wear our school colors (Ivory & Hunter Green) AND/OR do Twin Day! It’s simple, classic, and fun. Match with a friend or a group of friends! Get creative!

Friday, October 19, 2018: Carnival & Powderpuff Game: 4PM – 7PM

Booths will be open from 5pm to 7pm, immediately after the Powderpuff game. Tickets will be $0.50 each for booths.

Friday, October 19, 2018: Free In-School Flu Shots, 8AM – 10AM

Indian River Schools has partnered with Healthy Schools – the nation’s largest school vaccine provider – to offer flu shots to your child during the school day. The copay is $0, so there is no cost to you. The CDC recommends a flu shot as your child’s #1 defense against the flu. Our district’s goal is to ensure that flu shots are available to 100% of our students. Help us as Indian River Schools Fights the Flu.

Students must be signed up for the flu shot by October 18, 2018 in the front office at IRCHS. Students can pick up a form to take home to be filled out by a parent or guardian.

Saturday, October 20, 2018: IRCHS Gatsby Bash Homecoming, 6PM – 10PM

– Join us for a 20’s-style GATSBY BASH! Snacks & drinks will be served!
– First Presbyterian Church – 520 Royal Palm Blvd, Vero Beach, FL 32960
– Tickets are $15 for a single ticket and $30 for a couple’s ticket. They will be sold in the IRCHS Cashier’s office room 120.
– Tickets are first come-first serve and are expected to sell out by October 15th at the latest.
– All grades are welcome.

Wednesday, October 24, 2018: PSAT/NMQST Test

***All sophomores must take this exam
Juniors pay $19.00 to Mrs. Havens in Room 120. Deadline has been extended to Monday, October 15, 2018.

Thursday, October 25, 2018: State of the Jobs Convention Field Trip, 7:30am – 1:30pm

Bus leaves at 7:30am from the Volleyball Court! Havert L. Fenn Center in Fort Pierce.

Thursday, October 25, 2018: IRCHS Spirit Night, 5PM – 7PM

PAC is having a Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A! Come out and support the IRCHS Seniors! There will be games, appearance from the cow and Chick-fil-A will donate 10% of sales PLUS .50 cents per cookie.

Friday, October 26, 2018: Teachers vs. Students Costume Contest, 12:10PM – 1:05PM

Friday, October 26, 2018: Charter Cup Challenges

Seniors – costume competition, points awarded for percentage of homebase that is dressed up
Underclassmen – pumpkin carving competition
Saturday, October 27, 2018: VAPA Day at Waldo’s

 1PM-4PM – Jazz ensembles The Pups, Downbeat, and Hypersound will perform.

That evening the Wolves and 3 + 1 will perform from 7PM-10PM. All are welcome.
