David Mundy, Director of Jazz Studies, has been with IRCHS since 2001. Beginning with one ﬁve-member ensemble, the program has ﬂourished and grown each year. Mundy has been writing, performing, and producing music professionally in the Central Florida area since 1991. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Bass Performance from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Much of Mundy’s Florida success came with his contemporary jazz group, Equator. He currently focuses on playing jazz, and his groups have opened for Art Porter, Marion Meadows, Warren Hill, Steve Reid, Mindy Abair, and Ken Navarro.
